Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar hopes Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take steps to bring black money to India to fulfill his promise he had made ahead of the 2014 general elections.
In reply to a question on steps he might have suggested to or would like to suggest to the PM to bring back black money and Achchhe Din to India Sri Sri said he hadn’t spoken to the PM recently but this was the promise on which his party was voted to power that he would bring back black money, check corruption and put in good governance in respect to all.
“I still hope that he follows all the steps. I feel that he is a man of strength and he is committed to his cause. Just wait and watch. It’s too early to give judgment on his action. Many things he has done are very good but there are many good things he needs to do. I hope he does”, said the spiritual leader.
The Art of Living founder was interacting with media persons during a Meet the Press programme organised by Central Press Club, Bhopal here on Sunday.
Sri Sri who recently received a threat to his life from ISIS in response to his appeal to them to have a dialogue said criminals were criminals. They must be shown their place. Nothing should be spared in taking action. But, he added, dialogue and military options both should be adopted against terrorism.
In reply a question in relation to worlds super powers coming together against terrorism post Paris attack he said India had been facing such attacks for decades. Certain other countries Like Pakistan, Iraq and certain South African countries too witnessed frequent terrorists attacks but these attacks found insignificant mention in the western media.
He said India’s resilience in the face of terrorists attack had in fact must have confused and frustrated the terrorists as they could not disturb our system and economy.
He said these terrorists were fringe elements. Such elements could be found in any religion and community. They must be shown their place. In every religion and community such elements existed but it didn’t mean that the entire community was as such.
He said in India there was no rift between communities. However, it was during elections that there were some attempts (to divide them). The Dadri incident was condemnable. Nobody had any right to kill anybody. There was law and court for a crime.
Refusing to believe that there was a religious intolerance in the country he said he didn’t see any such situation in the country which didn’t exist earlier.
On use of IT in religion he said he didn’t see any problem in it. “Spiritualism is also a kind of Internet which unites people”, he added.
