Being an actor makes you learn new things about your character: Purab
Actor Purab Kohli, who plays a war prisoner in Nikhil Advani’s next Prisoners of War, has been researching well for his role.
Actor Purab Kohli likes to devote special time to research about the characters he chooses to play in films. The actor has recently started shooting for filmmaker Nikhil Advani’s project Prisoners of War and has decided to find out as much as he can about his character.
“The most interesting thing about being an actor is that you are constantly learning new things. Sometimes they are very fascinating like the time when I played a Rabari in my film Jal. Here I am playing a prisoner of war and therefore the role is quite intense and dark. It’s going to be quite challenging,” says Purab.

Purab’s research work is in full swing. “He has been spending a lot of time reading a lot of articles on prisoners, on how they look, the way they talk and all that they go through in a prison. Most importantly, Purab wanted to make sure his physical appearance is as close to being prisoner. He has managed to source material and well documented data from a psychologist which has allowed him to have an in depth understanding of the behavioural and physical traits of his character,” says a source, close to the actor.
