“Out talks with Jung and Naidu have been successful and we are hopeful that clearances would be granted by Friday evening. We have mailed Anurag Thakur, requesting him to extend the deadline by a day,” DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda told HT.

He said the association would be submitting a draft of Rs 83 lakh to the land and development office (L&DO) on Friday morning. “We were informed by L&DO that we need to submit this amount as part of the clearance process,” he said.

In order to host the match, DDCA needs to obtain an occupancy certificate from the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and clearance from L&DO, fire, electricity and traffic departments.

Manchanda said once the L&DO payment was made, the association was expecting a nod at the earliest. As far as other permissions go, the MCD’s nod will depend on how quickly the L&DO gives the go ahead.
