The coaching institutes in the town were abuzz with analysis of the results. Many students queued up at cyber cafes since noon to find out their score. Speculations were rife about the cut-off till it became clear that it was lower than last year – 100 for general category, 70 for OBC and 52 for SC category and 48 for ST.
“Around 70,000 students appeared in the JEE (Mains) from Bihar and out of around 1.98 lakh selected for JEE (Advance), Bihar must have fared very well. The information we have got so far is encouraging. The low cut-off compared to 105 last year will help Bihar students,” said Sanjay Kumar, who runs a coaching institute.
