JEE (Main) 2016 results: Kota institutes excel again
Students, especially from Allen Career Institute, Career Point Institute Kota, Motion IIT Academy and others, celebrated their victory by dancing along with the institute faculty and other authorities.
Kota, the coaching capital of India, maintained its winning streak in the JEE Mains 2016 results declared on Wednesday. Many students from the city cleared the first of the two-phase hurdle on their way to securing admissions to the various centrally-funded technical education institutions in the country.
Students, especially from Allen Career Institute, Career Point Institute Kota, Motion IIT Academy and others, celebrated their victory by dancing along with the institute faculty and other authorities.
The cut off in the JEE (Main) 2016 was 100 marks for general category, 70 marks for Other Backward castes, 52 Marks for Scheduled Caste category and 48 marks for Scheduled tribe category students. The cut-off in the JEE Mains last year (2015) was 105 marks for General category, 70 marks for Other Backward castes, 50 Marks for Scheduled caste category and 44 marks for Scheduled tribe category students. The offline JEE Mains exam was held on 3rd April and the online exam on 9th and 10th April this year.

17-year-old Priyanshi Somani, an aspirant from Allen Career Institute said she scored a total of 292 marks, with 120/120 in Mathematics. She said the results were on the expected lines.
Since the results arrived in the evening, most of the coaching institutes are still compiling the results and it will take time to reveal final figures of selections from the institutes.
However, coaching institutes revealed the initial results.
Chief Executive Officer, Resonance Eduventures Private Limited, Ashish Sharma said their student Utkarsh Gupta was the topper in Rajasthan with a score of 335 marks. Utkarsh scored 120/120 in Mathematics while he scored 110/120 in Physics and 105/120 in Chemistry.

Sharma said the 2nd topper in Rajasthan, Sidhant Kar, is also from their institute, with a score of 327 marks. The final student selection list would be known by tomorrow, he added.
Brajesh Maheshwari, Director, Allen Career Institute of Kota, said their topper in the JEE Mains is Shashwat Aggarwal who scored 325 out of a maximum of 360 marks, while three of their students-Aman Bansal, Ankit Dhankad and Syamantak Kumar-scored 320 marks each. “25 of our students have scored more than 300 score in the JEE Mains results”, he said.
Adarsh Sahu, student of Career Point Institute, Kota, topped the institute with 300 marks while two students, Sankit Shrivastava and Appari Lalit scored 290 marks.
“Around 42 students of our institute scored more than 250 marks,” said Shailendra Maheshwari, Director.
Motion IIT Academy director Nitin Vijay said the highest score from their institute is 300 marks while two students scored between 300 and 325 and 6 students scored between 280 and 300.
Other institutes are compiling their results.
A total of around 2 lakh successful aspirants of the JEE Mains will take the JEE Advance to be held on May 22.
