But confusion continues to prevail in the department over the transfer of Huda sectors to the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon — a move vehemently opposed by employees as it would curtail the role of Huda in the civic affairs of the city to a large extent.

Amid the chaos, Yadav believes that his experience in turning around loss-making government units such as a sugar mill in Meham, Rohtak, and the bus depot in Gurgaon could come in handy.

“I like to work in trying circumstances and the flux in the system really helps in finding innovative solutions,” he said.

Yadav is quite clear on his priority — important infrastructure road projects such as Northern Peripheral Road and Southern Peripheral Road need to be completed expeditiously. “I have called a meeting of senior Huda officials to discuss roads, the Badshahpur drain and other key projects that are stuck,” he said.

The administrator also plans to discuss in detail the issues related to waterlogging and cleaning of drains to avoid inconvenience to residents.

Another focus would be to implement the Citizen Charter so that services can be delivered in a time-bound manner, as promised by the authority. He also assured the HUDA employees that he will resolve the issue of departmental house allotment and asked them to prepare a list of those seeking accommodation.

“There are a large number cases pertaining to land acquisition and, in many cases, physical possession has not been taken. We will also take a call on whether land in cases where time period is beyond five years can be acquired under new rules,” Yadav said.

Further, the authority will fast track acquisition of land in new sectors for building roads and other utilities.

Apart from this, the Huda under him will engage with residents’ welfare associations, activists and the civil society to implement rainwater harvesting systems, improve sanitation, garbage collection and address other issues.

Public grievance camps

Huda will organise camps to resolve public grievances and for issues pertaining Estate Office-I, Gurgaon. The camps will be held on June 4, 11, and 18. For redressal of grievances pertaining to area of Estate Office-II, camps will be held on June 25, July 2, and July 9. The camps will start at 11 am at the Huda office in Sector 14.
