Bandra- Worli sea link to remain partially shut for two nights

Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has planned eight hour-long block on the sea-link for two consecutive nights, during which asphalt laying on the damaged patches of the road will be carried out. The sea-link has l eight lanes.
MSRDC has decided to carry out the asphalt laying work in two phases in order to ensure repair works are carried out smoothly. The repair works on the road going from Bandra to Worli is scheduled to be shut for vehicular movement from 10pm on Monday to 6am on Tuesday. The road going from Worli to Bandra will remain close from 10pm on Tuesday to 6am on Wednesday.
A MSRDC official informed “We have taken up the repairing work as certain stretches of the road had developed torn patches. We have decided to carry out the repairing work during night hours to ensure motorists are not inconvenienced.”
The Rs1,643 crore sea-link was thrown open for Mumbaikars in 2009. Motorists have to pay toll to use the sea-link. The sea-link provided fastest connectivity between the island city and the western suburbs, and it reduced traffic congestion on major roads in areas like Mahim, Dadar.
