Weathermen said the city will continue to feel the chill in the next one week. Weathermen have predicted clear skies for Monday with day and night temperatures at 28 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Presently, wind direction over the city is northerly to north-westerly and it is carrying cold air that has brought down temperatures,” said VK Rajeev, director, western region, India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Moisture levels continued to be low in the city as 55% and 41% relative humidity were recorded at Colaba and Santacruz respectively.

Meanwhile, pollution levels continued to be low in the city as the pollution-measuring indicator, the air quality index (AQI), was recorded at 184, which fell under the ‘moderate’ category for particulate matter. The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) estimated pollution levels to increase on Monday with a predicted AQI of 193.

On Sunday, of the 10 locations where SAFAR records AQI levels, Malad was the most polluted with an AQI of 283, followed by Andheri at 273. On the other hand, Colaba was the least polluted with an AQI of 88, which falls under the ‘good’ category followed by Worli at 93.
