To provide affordable medical help to the economically poor strata of Noida residents, Bharat Vikas Diagnosis Centre and Clinic (BVDCC) is set to introduce ultrasound, ECG (electrocardiogram) and thyroid diagnosis facilities for Rs 20 at its Sector 6 centre.

Patients will have to pay a token fee of Rs 20 in order to avail a check-up slip for tests.

“While private clinics charge Rs 700-Rs 1000 for ultrasound test, our centre will offer it to the needy for a nominal token fee of Rs 20. We are willing to treat the patients free of cost if they are extremely poor. Even government hospitals charge Rs 50 for ultrasound test, ” general physician Dr Tripta Anand, BVDCC, said.

The new machines are to be inaugurated in the next few days and the additional medical services will be started from next week.

While the ultrasound machine is used to detect disease or ailment in the human body, ECG machine assesses the muscular and electric functions of heart. Ultrasound machine is also used to detect the position of foetus in a pregnant woman.

The administration of the centre is ready for increased number of patients.

“Every day, we usually see 100-150 patients and we expect the number to shoot up after the additional diagnostic facilities are started. We are prepared for it as the primary aim of this centre is to help the maximum number of needy as possible,” Anand said.

The new medical services are not limited to the poor. “Anyone in Noida can get his/her treatment done from our centre. With round-the-clock staff and modern equipment, we provide quality medical treatment. Patients from far off areas such as Sector 52 also flock our centre,” KK Bansal, convenor, BVDCC, said.
