The authority had conceived the elevated road in 2012 to decongest DSC Road and provide a signal-free ride to thousands of motorists who face traffic congestion near Barola, Bhangel and Salarpur villages situated along the road. The DSC Road, earlier known as Dadri Link Road, goes from Noida’s Gole Chakkar to Greater Noida’s Dadri town.

The proposed elevated road is proposed to start from Sector 39/43 crossing and end at Sector 82 T-point. It has a budget of `450 crore.

“We have decided to change the design so that we can provide connectivity to more developing residential areas including sectors 100, 104, 105 and 107, among others. In the new design, we will provide exit and entry points for commuters from these areas on the proposed elevated stretch. We will conduct survey and deliberations to ensure that the new design benefits more areas falling along this route,” said AK Goyal, chief project engineer (CPE), Noida authority.

“Many group housing societies are coming up in sectors 100, 104, 105 and 107. If we link these areas with the elevated road, those living there will also be able to use the congestion-free elevated road. In the existing design, the elevated road did not provide connectivity to these sectors,” said another Noida authority official.

In August 2015, the authority had approved the detailed project report (DPR) of the elevated road and work was supposed to start by 2015-end.

“We received suggestions that we can make optimum use of this elevated road by connecting more areas. Therefore, we decided to rework the design. Once the design is finalised, we will again complete the procedure to begin work on the ground,” said Goyal.

Officials said that the elevated road will offer seamless connectivity to office-goers travelling to Phase-II industrial area daily.

“This road remains clogged every day as some commercial complexes and other small markets are situated along the DSC Road. During peak hours the situation goes from bad to worse, forcing motorists to crawl on this 6.2-km stretch,” said commuter Rajkumar Chauhan, an MNC employee who travels on this road.
