Noida: Traffic police adjust waiting time at signals on Udyog Marg

The minor changes have been done keeping in mind the four-directional volume of traffic at all six crossings between Sector 15 and Jhundpura intersections. The traffic police observed that one side of Udyog Marg was not in use for traffic coming from Jhundpura to Sector 15 since the road was made one-way on January 22.
“The traffic signals installed at these intersections for years had their timings set as per four-directional traffic movement. Since it has become a one-way now, one of the four arms of the traffic signal has no use. It only confuses the commuters. That is why we decided to adjust the signal timing at all the six crossings for three-directional traffic movements. For example, at Jhundpura crossing, the green signal timing for traffic on way to Jhundpura from Sector 15 has been increased from 40 seconds to 60 seconds. Similarly, we have made minor changes at other intersections,” said traffic inspector Dharmendra Singh Yadav, adding that the signal timing will be reshuffled on Vyapar Marg too.
The traffic police changed the traffic movement to one-way on Udyog Marg on the request of the Noida entrepreneurs’ association (NEA), an apex body of the city industrialists. The change was made to improve traffic management in the area, which caters to sectors 1 to 11, housing nearly 3,000 small and big factories.
“We appreciate the efforts of the traffic police. These changes will help in managing the traffic more efficiently. Also, the move to make the road one-way to streamline traffic will help decongest the road,” said Vipin Malhan, president of the NEA.
