Bhabua man claims receiving call from Islamic State agent
Mukesh Kumar, an 18-year-old unemployed man from Bhabua in Kaimur district, said he received the call on his cellphone at 8.45 am on Friday. “The caller, who said he was speaking from Islamabad, tried to convince me to join the Islamic State,” he said. “I was offered a lot of money… but I refused the proposal and disconnected the call.”
A local resident has claimed that he received a phone call from an Islamic State recruiter in Pakistan.

Mukesh said when his friends later traced the call through the Truecaller mobile application, they found that it had indeed come from the Pakistani capital. Following this, Kumar approached the station house officer of Bhabua police station as well as Kaimur superintendent of police Harpreet Kaur.
Police have lodged a case against the unknown caller.
“We have informed the state police headquarters and the anti-terrorism squad, and are trying to trace the caller as well as his location,” Kaur said. However, she admitted that finding how the Islamic State agent had procured Kumar’s number could prove to be a cumbersome task.
Intelligence agencies say that the West Asia-based militant outfit – also called Daesh – has been increasingly attempting to recruit youngsters from places across India to execute terror attacks.
