The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced to start a campaign for the farming community to save debt-ridden farmers from committing suicides in the state.
In a press conference, AAP state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur and party’s farmer and labour wing chief GS Kang said they would spread the party’s national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s message to farmers and labourers urging them to not to end their lives.
Chhotepur said once AAP comes to power in Punjab, they would take steps to improve the condition of farmers in the state. The party volunteers would visit all villages and meet farmers, he said, adding that public meetings will also be held across the state by the farmer and labour wing.
