Navjot Singh Sidhu takes Rajya Sabha oath
Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu took the Rajya Sabha oath on Thursday.
Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu took the Rajya Sabha oath as a nominated member on Thursday.
Dressed in a maroon blazer with a matching turban, Sidhu took the oath in Punjabi.
He was previously elected to the Lok Sabha thrice.
Sidhu was also the Member of Parliament (MP) from Amritsar between 2012 and 2014.
Sidhu is married to chief parliamentary secretary (CPS) Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu who was recently in the news when she ‘resigned’ from the BJP on Facebook.

The CPS was reportedly unhappy at the prospect of Sidhu’s RS seat, saying it would keep him away from Punjab.
