Gangster Sheru arrested near Rupnagar; pistol, ammunition seized
Police on Saturday arrested a gangster, identified as Sunil Kumar alias Sheru, and recovered a .32 bore pistol and three live cartridges from his possession.

Sheru was arrested by crime investigation agency (CIA) staff at a naka at Malikpur village here.
Atul Soni of CIA staff said Sheru belongs to Jahan Khelan in Hoshiarpur district and was currently staying at Balongi in SAS Nagar district.
He said Sheru had purchased the pistol from Uttar Pradesh and was hatching a plot to eliminate his arch-rival Lawrence Bishnoi.
Bishnoi is lodged in Rupnagar jail. He was earlier in Hoshiarpur jail and Sheru had already made two unsuccessful attempts to kill him. Sheru was produced in a local court that remanded him in two-day police custody.
The gangster had eight cases pertaining to murder, robbery and under arms Act registered against him. He is also a proclaimed offender in a case registered at Chandigarh.
