Separately, a complaint was filed against Kiku and other actors by Randeep Singh, a resident of Mohalla Khokhar in Faridkot, alleging that they had hurt religious sentiments during a TV programme (Jashan E Umeed) on December 27.

Following the compliant, the Faridkot police had booked Kiku and others under Section 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs),153A(promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race,) 298(uttering words, etc, with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.

“Police have been dilly-dallying on action in the case. Kiku and others have mimicked the Dera Sacha Sauda chief and hurt our sentiments,” said Mohinderpal Bittu, a dera committee member.

“We agreed to lift the blockade after police told us that Kiku will be brought to Faridkot on January 18 on a production warrant.

“Police are bringing him here on a production warrant. We are taking needful action in this regard,” said Faridkot deputy superintendent of police Sukhdev Singh Brar.
