Badal shifted out of ICU, to stay in PGIMER till infection is cured
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, admitted to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh following chest congestion and fever, was on Tuesday shifted out of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following improvement in his condition.

A team of doctors attending on Badal shifted him from the ICU to a private room following a “remarkable and consistent” improvement in his health, a spokesperson for the CM’s office said in Chandigarh.
The medical team led by head of pulmonary medicine, PGIMER D Behra has decided to keep him in the hospital till the infection goes away, the spokesman said.
“Meanwhile, the doctors expressed complete satisfaction on his recovery as the chest infection was also gradually decreasing,” the spokesman said.
Badal was admitted to a local hospital in Nawanshahar in Punjab after he had complained of chest congestion, four days back.
He was later shifted to PGIMER.
