“While the old wounds of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargadi were yet to heal, Badal has masterminded yet another plot, this time by putting one group of religious leaders against the other, by patronising one and expressing sympathies with the other at the same time,” he said in a statement.

“This is part of his same old game and nefarious design aimed at controlled destabilisation to create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among people with an eye on the assembly elections,” said Amarinder, referring to the fierce confrontation between two Sikh groups that has already taken a bloody turn leading to one death.

Alleging that the murderous assault on Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale was in full knowledge of the CM and he was aware of the people behind the attack, Amarinder said Badal was now shedding crocodile tears.

“Otherwise, how is it possible that such a planned attack by so many people went unnoticed till it was executed?” he questioned.

“This is the worst Badal could do to the Sikhs by not only dividing their religious leaders but turning them bloodthirsty against each other,” he alleged, adding that he (Badal) has done it in the past and is doing it yet again without caring about the dangerous repercussions it can have for Punjab.
