Youth booked for abduction of minor girl
A 20-year-old man has been booked for abducting a 15-year-old girl in Patiala on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Kamal Singh, a resident of Kartar colony.

In her statement, the victim said that the accused, who was staying in her neighbourhood, abducted her on Monday night and took her to an isolated place near Abluwal village. She managed to escape and returned home on Tuesday morning after he left her at the spot and went away.
Station house officer (SHO), civil lines police station, Bharpur Singh said that the hunt is on to trace the whereabouts of the accused who was absconding. However, since he does not have a phone with him, they are finding it difficult to trace him.
The SHO added that since he is staying in the neighbourhood of the victim, he knew the girl’s family. He further added that teams have been deployed to conduct the raids at his relatives’ place and he will be nabbed soon.
The accused has been booked under section 363 (kidnapping), 366 A (procreation of minor girl) and 354 (outrage modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012.
