Sudhanshu Pandey planning in his version of Kaabil in Tamil
Fighting a case against the writers of Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil over ownership issues, Sudhanshu Pandey says he will make his version of the story in Tamil soon.
Actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who starred in Hindi films like Singh Is Kinng and Singham, says he will make his version of the upcoming Hindi film Kaabil in Tamil with a top-notch production house in south. The actor is embroiled in a battle with filmmakers Rakesh Roshan and Sanjay Gupta over the story of Kaabil. Sudhanshu had reportedly filed a criminal complaint against the writers Siraj Ayaz Ahmed and Vijay Kumar Mishra over ownership rights of a script. This film is being directed by Sanjay Gupta and it has Hrithik and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. It is produced by the Roshans’ home production company.
“I am in talks with a big production company in South to make this film there. We are in talks with the biggest stars of south. Hopefully the shoot will start soon and the release will happen by the end of the year,” said Sudhanshu.

Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil apparently narrates the tale of a blind couple. “The basic story of my film is of a blind couple. I don’t know what they (Roshans) are making, they are saying. It’s a different story. So I thought I shouldn’t waste time and get my story made in Tamil,” Sudhanshu said.
If upon its release the Tamil film fares well at the box office, Sudhanshu will remake it in Hindi later.

Sudhanshu claims that the story of Kaabil is his idea that he developed with (writer) Siraj (Ahmed). He had then pitched it to Sanjay Gupta. However, when Sanjay narrated the story to Hrithik, he liked it. When news came out that Sanjay was making the film with the Roshans, Sudhanshu lodged a criminal complaint against the writers.
There were reports that filmmaker Rakesh Roshan had filed a defamation case of Rs 50 crore against Sudhanshu in the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court. Reportedly Sudhanshu had said he had not received any notice from the Roshans.
“The matter is subjudice so I can’t talk about it in detail,” Sudhanshu said.
