Tamil actor-director Balu Anand dies following a heart attack

Tamil actor-director Balu Anand, known for his roles in films such as Annanagar First Street and Nane Raja Naane Mantri, died in Coimbatore on Friday.
Tamil actor and director Balu Anand suffered a massive heart attack and died in his house in Coimbatore on Friday, family sources said. The 62-year-old Anand, who has acted in some 100 films and directed a few Tamil movies, complained of chest pain at his house in Kalampalayam and was immediately, rushed to a nearby private hospital. However, he died on the way, hospital officials said.

Anand worked in a number of films including Sathyaraj-starrrer Annanagar First Street and Vijayakant-starrer Nane Raja Naane Mantri. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter, sources said.
