Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff announce Student of The Year 2 song Hook Up, share pics. Here’s when it’ll be out

Alia Bhatt and Tiger Shroff have shot a special song for Student of the Year 2 and have revealed when the video is likely to be released.

Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Tiger Shroff have announced the title of their special song from the upcoming film Student of the Year 2. Titled Hook Up, the song is likely to be released on Tuesday, Alia’s Instagram post suggested.

Directed by Punit Malhotra, Student of the Year 2 is a sequel to Karan Johar’s 2012 hit film that launched Alia’s career. The film also starred Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The new film marks the debut of Chunky Panday’s daughter Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria.

Sharing a picture on Instagram Saturday morning, Alia wrote, “See you Tuesday @tigerjackieshroff!”

Tiger, too, built up excitement. He first tweeted, “Number to mil gaya, message kar dun kya? (I got your number, shall I message?), followed by a screenshot of what appears to be a WhatsApp conversation with Alia.

 

 

 

 

Speaking about his experience of working with Alia, Tiger had said at a promotional event, “Personally, I have never done a dance number like that. Working with Alia was an amazing experience. Though she is such a big star, she was open and cooperative on set while shooting the song.”

Talking to Mumbai Mirror in an interview, Punit Malhotra revealed that the song, choreographed by Farah Khan, was shot over four days: “Alia and Tiger look amazing together, their chemistry is sizzling. Since we have Tiger it made sense to get Alia who was gracious despite being such a huge star. I haven’t seen anyone work so hard, I’m her fan.”

Punit also claimed that Alia bruised herself while working through the ‘difficult steps’ Farah chose for her. “The song is a trump card which we saved for the end. Tiger will kill me for saying this, but Alia has danced better than him. I call it a leap of faith, it’s a fun space to be in,” he added.

Will Varun and Sidharth also make appearances in the new film? The filmmaker confirmed they are not in this special song but hinted at a possibility of them making cameos in another sequence.

The first song of the film was reminiscent of The Disco Song from the 2012 film while Ananya has compared the second song, Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan, to SOTY’s Radha Teri Chunari, which was picturised on Alia. Student of the Year 2 is slated for a May 10 release.
