When Bharat song Slow Motion came out, fans were reminded of Raveena Tandon’s Tip Tip Barsa. Disha Patani’s designer in Slow Motion, Ashley Rebello has now revealed that her look was inspired by 60s heroines.

Bollywood actor Disha Patani is garnering all the attention for her song Slow Motion and her designer for the song, Ashley Rebello, has now revealed the sari-look was actually inspired by Helen, her song Oh Hasenaa and Mera Naam, apart from other 60s heroines. He also denied having been inspired by Raveena Tandon and her famous song, Tip Tip Barsa Paani.

Slow Motion is from Salman Khan-starrer Bharat in which Disha is playing the role of a trapeze artist. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film traces the life of Salman’s character Bharat across 60 years. It also stars Jackie Shroff and Katrina Kaif.

In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Ashley Rebello said, “We borrowed a lot from these songs (O Haseena Zulfonwali and Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu), from the tassles to the hairstyles. Ali was very clear her look should be sensuous and classy rather than overtly showy.”

The way Disha sari draped her sari attracted a lot of flak online and got Twitterati cracking jokes.

“We had initially planned on a yellow and red saree but eventually settled for yellow. No, Raveena’s saree was not on my mind, This is more of a dhoti saree, contemporary with a flair of the ‘60s,” he added.

The designer also claimed to have found references from Hollywood films and the Russian circus. “Disha is a pleasure to work with, the only thing she ever said is that she knows she is in the hands of professionals who know their jobs and will make her look good.”

Talking about preparing for the song, Disha had earlier said, “I remember breaking my knee while rehearsing. I was also practising gymnastics simultaneously. You must have seen the front flip and other stunts in the song. I was actually over training and broke my knee a week prior to the shoot,” she said. “I couldn’t walk and was literally on the bed before the shoot started. It was really hard for me. After every take, I had to use a cold press, which hurt a lot. But I am happy to see the result and feel that everything was worth it.”

Bharat is the big Eid release of the year and is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 5.
