Sources say that the new project is ‘definitely not a commercial’ and that Ranveer will himself announce this project that he has been passionately working on for over a year.

Ranveer was last seen opposite Alia Bhatt in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, in which he played an aspiring rapper. Not only did the film perform well at the box office, it also impressed critics, who praised his performance in the film.

Ranveer was recently spotted at the Filmfare Awards 2019 where he received the best actor award (critics) for his portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaaavat. Ranveer’s wife Deepika presented the award to him and he quickly went down on one knee to ask if she was proud of him.

Ranveer is also working on Kabir Khan’s 83, based on India’s victory in the 1983 cricket World Cup. He will also be seen in Karan Johar’s Takht, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
