Actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput are set to become parents for the second time. Mira was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday and will give birth to her second baby soon.
According to a report in NDTV, Mira has been admitted at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Photographers spotted Mira’s mother outside the hospital as well. See pics:
Mira and Shahid were spotted together a night before on Tuesday at a restaurant in Mumbai. Mira looked beautiful and glowy in a blue off shoulder dress and Shahid kept it casual in a pair of shorts and a dark shirt. He held his wife’s hand and walked her to their car.
Shahid and Mira are parents to two-year-old daughter Misha. They tied the knot in 2015 and in a recent interview, Shahid said how marrying her was a good decision. “I got lucky. I married Mira,” Shahid said. “She’s as normal as it gets. We kind of hit it off and decided to get into an arranged marriage. By God’s grace it’s been wonderful, the last three years, and she’s been a huge part of that for me.”
Mira was a student in Delhi University when Shahid met her. They married after a brief courtship. But despite the fame, Shahid said he has always craved normalcy in his life. “I’m very simple as a person,” he said. “And although I might live a very lavish lifestyle, I’m very happy I share my life with someone who has a similar mindset.”
The actor, who is currently busy promoting his next, Batti Gul Meter Chalu and has begun his prep for the Hindi remake of Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy, says he can barely manage a week’s off after his second baby’s birth. He will also be seen in a biopic on Asian gold medallist boxer Dingko Singh.
Speaking to Mid Day, Shahid said that while in the case of his elder child Misha, he was off work for several months, in case of his second child, despite his best efforts, he just couldn’t do much. “During Misha’s birth [in 2016], I took a couple of months off. This time too, I was negotiating to take a month-long break, but things didn’t work out. I will get only a week off from work. It is too short a duration, but such are the circumstances.”
