Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of members to Parliament at 80, will go to polls in all the seven phases of the Lok Sabha election 2019. Votes will be counted on May 23.

The Deoria parliamentary constituency is located in the eastern region or Purvanchal of politically-crucial Uttar Pradesh.

Voters in the Deoria Lok Sabha seat have not repeated any party’s candidate since 1996, when the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Prakash Mani Tripathi won the Lok Sabha election. In the 1998 polls, Mohan Singh of the Samajwadi Party was successful and in the next election, Prakash Mani Tripathi managed to come back.
