Indian women’s cricket ace Mithali Raj is well known for her exploits on the field, as she has made her mark as one of the finest players to have played the game ever. Along with being a legendary athlete, she is also known for having a strong personality. She rarely minces her words on social media while giving her views on a range of topics.

An active twitter user, Mithali recently posted a message wishing fellow Indians on the occasion of the country’s 72nd Independence Day. She wrote, “Wishing India, freedom from hunger, poverty, discrimination, sexism, abuse & greed. We have had 72 years to build ourselves in the manner we want to be defined. Are we close? Lives were lost so we could breathe free. Let’s honour those sacrifices. Jai Hind. ”

Mithali Raj continues to lead the Indian women’s cricket team in Test matches and one-day internationals. It was under her captaincy that the Indian team reached the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017. Mithali is the highest run-getter in women’s ODI cricket.
