BJP disrespected mandate, betrayed people of Rajasthan: Congress
Questioning BJP’s Gaurav Yatra, Congress leaders said a party that does not respect democratic values has no right to hold such events.
The Congress on Wednesday lashed out at the ruling BJP alleging that the saffron party has disrespected the people’s mandate and betrayed them. Questioning BJP’s Gaurav Yatra, Congress leaders said that the party which has no respect for democratic values has no right to carry out such yatras.
Mentioning, the Rajasthan high court order which has directed the BJP to keep its ongoing Gaurav Yatra free from government programmes, the Congress said that court has shown the mirror to the arrogant BJP government which is misusing public money.
Congress leaders were addressing a mass gathering at Pachpadra in Barmer where the party has organised the Sankalp Yatra.
Congress national general secretary Ashok Gehlot, PCC chief Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan in-charge Avinash Khanna, CP Joshi, Mohan Prakash, Vivek Bansal, Rameshwar Dudi, BD Kalla, Chandrabhan, Namonarayn Meena, Raghuveer Meena, Hemaram Choudhary and Harish Choudhary were presented and addressed the meeting.
Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot said that Raje claims that the Congress has done nothing in the past 50 years while her government had developed the state during her five-year tenure. Gehlot said that in last 28 years, the BJP had ruled the state for over 18 years while Congress got only 10 years.
He said that Raje is also misleading the people over the Barmer refinery issue. “If Raje has found Rs 40,000 crore loss in the refinery deal, then she should send those responsible behind bars. Raje is misleading people as all the terms and conditions about the loan amount were mentioned in the MoU,” said Gehlot.
He said that Raje should issue a white paper on the refinery which will bring the facts to the fore. He also alleged that the chief minister had misled the Prime Minister on the issue.
PCC chief Sachin Pilot, while addressing the meeting, said that the BJP government has created an emergency-like situation. He said that during her visit people are restricted from coming out of their houses. They are not allowed to wear black clothes and carrying black accessories.
He said that people are fed up with this government due to which they are opposing it and it is their constitutional right.
“Out of a total 22 bypolls, the Congress has won 20 and this shows that people are early waiting to throw this government out,” said Pilot.
