Kailash Kher believes in going the extra mile to please his fans and on his birthday today, he has planned a special gift for his fans. The Meerut-born singer, who turns 44 today, will release the video of his song, Bhole Chale, which is about Lord Shiva and the audio for which, was released on his birthday, last year.

“I deliberately waited for a year to shoot the video. There were a few things that I wanted to use in the visual medium to make it look perfect. For example, when we had released the audio, my hair was growing, and I wanted them to grow longer, so that we can use that look in the video,” says Kailash.

He adds that some of the sequences in the video needed to be shot during a particular time, place and event. “The video has a few shots from the Kumbh Mela. We wanted to include the hath yogis, and they are only present at big religious gatherings, and you can’t meet them anywhere. So we had to wait,” adds Kailash.

A believer of Lord Shiva, Kailash is hopeful that the song will help the youth connect with Indian traditions.
“When we released the song Babam Bam in 2007, people were surprised that the song was being played at nightclubs. Youngsters loved that song. I wish to do the same with this [new video] as well, and want them to understand the values, and the spirituality associated with Lord Shiva,” shares the singer.

Asked about his plans for the day, Kailash says that he will be in Chennai to record a song for popular music composer Devi Sri Prasad. “He called me recently and requested me to record the song on the same day as my birthday, [July 7], as they plan to release its music on July 10. However, my son Kabir is not very happy about it and is asking me to cancel the recording session, so that we can celebrate my birthday. I haven’t decided on that as yet, so it will be a working birthday for me,” he says.
