The deceased has been identified as Sachin Suresh Dhaule, 44, a resident of Sant Tukaram nagar.
Dhaule also named his wife, Shashikala Sachin Dhaule, 40, along with the local corporator in his suicide note before hanging himself to death. Dhawle worked as a fabricator in Pimpri.
The man hung himself with the help of a piece of clothing around 3 am on Monday at his residence where he lived with his wife.
The complaint in the matter was filed by the deceased man's younger brother, Sharad Suresh Dhaule, 38, who lives in Nashik. Corporator Palande could not be reached for comment.
"He has not mentioned any context in his suicide note. He has simply stated that he is tired of the treatment meted out by the two women. The rest is part of the investigation and I cannot reveal it just yet," said MR Ghuge, police sub inspector, Pimpri police station.
A case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the two women at Pimpri police station.
