Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus launched in India (HMD Global)

HMD Global on Tuesday launched a new Nokia smartphone in India. Called the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the device was launched in China as the Nokia X6 in May this year. The smartphone is available in Gloss Midnight Blue, Gloss Black and Gloss White.

Nokia 6.1 Plus will go on sale in India from August 31 via Nokia’s e-store and Flipkart.com. The smartphone is priced at Rs 15,999. HMD Global also announced the launch of Nokia 5.1 Plus in India. The phone will be available in India next month. The company will be revealing the price on a later date.

Nokia 6.1 Plus: Full specifications
The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a 5.8-inch 19:9 display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on Android Oreo out-of-the-box and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM. It comes with 64GB built-in storage and supports expandable storage up to 400GB via microSD card.

Nokia 6.1 Plus sports two cameras featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and 1.0um micron, and a 5-megapixel fast focus, f/2.4 aperture and 1.12um micron on the back. It has a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies.



Connectivity options include dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C support. Nokia 6.1 is powered by a 3060mAh battery.

Nokia 6.1 Plus: Features
Nokia 6.1 Plus supports AI enhancements for facial recognition on both its rear and front cameras. It also supports the “Bothie” feature, which lets you shoot from both the rear and front cameras at the same time. The native camera also lets you livestream to Facebook and YouTube.

Nokia 6.1 is part of Google’s Android One platform, which means users will receive guaranteed two years of Android ‘letter’ upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. 

Nokia 5.1: Full specifications
Nokia 5.1 Plus has a 5.9-inch notch display with HD+ resolution. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 MT6771 processor clocked up to 1.8GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone comes with 32GB of built-in storage and supports expandable storage up to 400GB.

Nokia 5.1 Plus has a dual-rear camera consisting of 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 5-megapixel depth-sensing sensor. The camera is accompanied by LED flash. On the front it has an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The smartphone is powered by a 3,060mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android One (Oreo).
