Donald Trump served as the 45th President of the United States from January 2017 to January 2021. A renowned businessman, television personality, and political leader, Donald Trump has left an indelible mark on American politics and the global stage. With his unfiltered communication style and controversial policies, Trump garnered both fervent support as well as opposition, making him a polarizing figure and one of the most talked-about figures in recent times. Born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City, Donald Trump started his professional career in real estate, establishing himself as a prominent real estate developer in the 1980s. He gained further recognition as the host of the reality TV show "The Apprentice," which propelled him into the living rooms of millions of Americans and solidified his celebrity status. Trump's political journey began in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for the presidency as a Republican. His unconventional campaign style and populist rhetoric resonated with disenchanted voters, propelling him to win the Republican nomination. In the 2016 general election, despite being labelled an underdog, Trump secured a stunning victory over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, becoming the 45th President of the United States. While his policies and leadership style continue to be topics of discussion, Trump's influence on the political landscape remains significant. On August 25, 2023, Trump surrendered to authorities in Georgia on charges of plotting to overturn the state's 2020 election results in an unprecedented moment resulting in the first-ever mug shot of a former American president. He spent about 22 minutes inside the jail where he was booked before his release.  His surrender in Georgia marks the fourth time in 2023 the former president has turned himself in after criminal charges were brought against him by federal and state officials. But it's the first time he was subjected to a mug shot.
