American fundamentalist Christian missionary John Allen Chau was killed in November by tribespeople when he illegally went to the North Sentinel Island in the Andamans to convert them.
Around 45 days after American national John Allen Chau ventured onto the forbidden North Sentinel island and got killed by the reclusive and endangered Sentinelese tribe, the Andaman and Nicobar Police on Saturday formally introduced a new police unit exclusively for tourists.
Police said investigators had traced the two Americans through calls made to Chau’s telephone phone. The Americans had “local mobile numbers”, he added.
Detailing how the Sentinelese speak, John Allen Chau, noted that they “make high pitched sounds.... sounds such as the letters b, p, l and s.” Chau, the first outsider to have sneaked into the island in 12 years, also described the topography of island.
