Bigg Boss 12: Salman Khan revealed at show’s Goa launch that the show was first offered to Shah Rukh Khan.

Bigg Boss 12 will return on your screens on September 16 with fresh controversies, interesting contestants and host Salman Khan. However, a show such as Bigg Boss, which has been a TRP spinner for over a decade now, needs to up its game constantly. So, before the Bigg Boss 12 premieres, the makers decided to give the audience a taste of what to expect via a grand launch in Goa. In the past, the show was launched in Lonavala and the contestants directly entered the house.

Salman Khan had quotable quotes to spare as he spoke to the media about hosting the show. “Earlier people used to ask me when I am getting married. Now people ask if I am hosting Bigg Boss. I think I will marry Bigg Boss,” Salman said. he also went on to say that Bigg Boss is the longest relationship of his life.


Asked who makes the best ‘vichitra jodi’ with him, he said, “Sanjay Dutt and me, and we hosted a Bigg Boss season together. So, he is the best choice for me. I will also choose Shah Rukh Khan. Not many know that he was the original choice to host Bigg Boss. He had a shoulder injury so it came to me. I thank him for this.”

Reacting if he will work with Shah Rukh, Salman said, “I will work with him if we get a good script. He was kind enough to appear in Tubelight. And I will also be seen in Zero.”


  Salman also introduced real-life jodi Bharti Singh and husband Harsh Limbachaya. Bharti confirmed that they will enter the show, “Harsh has a lot of work. Even if he gets eliminated, I want to win the show.” When asked why the couple decided to do the show, she quipped “for money,” adding, “Ever since I got married, Colors has taken care of the bills”.

Earlier, Salman arrived in style on a boat. He was seen wearing jeans and ganji as he reached the venue. Once there, Salman kicked off the event with a special dance performance. He even did his famous ‘towel’ dance.

The journalists at the event were separated into jodis and Salman played a few quirky games with them.




With Salman and Colors top brass present, interesting details of the upcoming show are expected to be shared with the media. In keeping with the format of the Bigg Boss this year, media was asked to dress colourful and sunny.

The theme this year is ‘vichitra jodis’. According to reports, there will be 21 contestants this year. While it was earlier believed that celebs and commoners will enter as jodis, new reports suggest none of the celebrities will enter in pairs. In all, five commoner pairs, five solo commoners and six solo celebs will participate. Salman Khan will pair the single contestants on the day of Bigg Boss 12 premiere.

Among those who are expected to enter the house are Srishty Rode, Dipika Kakar, Shaleen Bhanot, Scarlett M Rose, Ssumier Pasricha, Subuhi Joshi and adult star Danny D.

Bigg Boss 12 begins September 16 and will telecast for the next three months from Monday to Friday at 10.30pm, and Saturday to Sunday at 9pm on Colors TV.
