Updated on Oct 19, 2020 11:24 PM IST

While delivering the keynote speech at the inaugural function of 16th Grand Challenges Annual Meeting 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India is now at the forefront of Covid-19 vaccine development. He added that India has one of the highest recovery rates, 88 per cent, because it was one of the first countries to adopt a flexible lockdown. “Today we are seeing a decline in the number of cases per day and in the growth rate of cases. India has one of the highest recovery rates--88 per cent. This happened because India was one of the first countries to adopt a flexible lockdown when the total cases were just a few hundred,” Modi said. PM Modi also said the future will be shaped by societies that invest in science and innovation. Watch the full video for more details.
